Welcome to the Mindfulness Community of Victoria (MCV).

Established in 1999, our lay Sangha is a Buddhist Community which embraces an inclusive and diverse group of people who follow the mindfulness teachings of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. We welcome anybody who wishes to bring mindful awareness, presence and compassion into all aspects of their life. We believe that dwelling in the present moment is the way to truly develop peace and harmony in one’s self and in the world.

We meet in-person every week on Thursday at 6:50 at Friends Meeting House (FMH) on Fern Street except for the second Thursday of the month when me meet online.

For people who are joining us in person for the first time, please take some time to go through our website and especially give attention to the section that describes our Thursday evening.

Also please arrive at FMH no later than 6:40 when someone will offer a warm welcome and a short orientation (5-10 minutes). No orientation is offered on the 2nd Thursday when our practice is held on Zoom.

For those who are interested, additional information on our tradition, practice and Sangha is offered on request at a longer orientation (20-25 minutes) . To participate in this more expansive orientation, please send a short note to mindfulnessvictoria@gmail.com with “ORIENTATION” in the subject line. Somebody will respond with a time and place (likely on a Thursday at 6:30 also at Friends Meeting House)
